I am Canadian but from my cursory reading here on DU that is how it goes... And I cant recall the time but the President has like 2 days or something to sign the bill into law but of course the president will sign it asap....that first bill will be the un-revised senate bill....the fixes (reconcillation bill) will need to pass the senate before going to the president to be signed...when those fixes get signed then it is the two collective bills that define the insurance reform. But i think that 2nd bill wont happen until easter. This sunday is for the unrevised Senate bill.

3. Both bills will be voted on Sunday as follows:
Throughout the day there will be many procedural votes; however, tucked in among them will be the two biggies:

The FIRST VOTE will be on "The Rule" which does 3 things:
- Governs debate (sets all the usual Rules Committee procedural stuff - usually limited to an hour).
- "Deems" the Senate bill Passed.
- Allows the Reconciliation bill to immediately move to the House floor.

The SECOND VOTE will be on the Reconciliation Bill.

Once the RULE is passed, the Senate version of the bill can go to the President for signature.

Once the Reconciliation is passed, it goes to the Senate for an up or down.
