1. Kucinich said he wasn't promised anything for his vote. |
|
Did Kucinich lie? Is that what you are asking?

4. I, for one, certainly hope he did...and would neither lose nor gain respect for him for it. |

PO is the best solution for the situation that would cause minimum havoc...and one day perhaps lead to single payer.

5. Doesn't matter, so long as Reid follows up on it. |
|
My worry is that he won't. Once a bill is passed, it could be very easy for Reid to forget to follow up.

8. They can do it via reconcilation as it is a money shifting issue |
|
I think the ressurrection of the PO (eventually) is one of those good unintended that will happen becausse of HCR . Yes, for reasons unfathomable, POTUS took single payer and PO off the table to begin with. Just chalk it up to the DLC I suppose. But the very minute the health insurance companies are federally regulated, the PO is inevitable. You can't have proper cost control without it. I think that's why Dennis K flipped. He knows he's got somebody to regulate now. Think about it. People like Dennis K and Grayson are gonna make it their life mission to take that ball and run with it to end zone.

10. Feeble attempts at damage control. |

What are they going to do, sell themselves back to the people before they've made good?

13. Kucincih was promised very little for his vote. What they gave him |
|
Was this: he will be allowed his chairmanship of his sub committee over at the House.
If Reid is putting out the notion that he now wants a Public option, I imagine he has reviewed his campaign coffers, and realizes he needs some visits from some insurance lobbyists ASAP.
That is what these "reform" efforts are really all about. In the end, We the People are sold out, and the efforts of the lobbyists to deny us real 'change we can believe in' are expensive efforts so we are charged even more for the product that they are protecting.

14. Harry Reid started his speech with the following |
|
"I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today"
Yeah -- Harry's still playing the part of the politician to give cover to the real movers and shakers on this bill -- the insurance lobbyists
