rethugs will pay a price for voting no
also..

When they are up for re-election their constituency will realize that HCR isn't the devil because it is already making their lives better. Remember the most hardcore rethugs tend to be in working class southern districts that will FEEL HCR. Hell the rethugs are already feeling the push back at some of the town halls.

So let's give Candidate Bill Kennedy some love. It will be an uphill battle to defeat the demonic fox, but who would have thought that President Obama would have won North Carolina?

Yes we can!!!!

1. I was thinking that when I saw Boehner threatening the Dems that the voters
"won't forget" if this bill passes. For the first time I actually thought they might be truly scared, for the very reasons you cite. Initially I wasn't too optimistic because I didn't think it would make enough changes soon enough, but maybe... :)

2. And I will happily give Bill Kennedy some love. Foxx is evil (and I don't believe
in evil.)

3. uh, no. Opposition to the bill wil make them more popular in their districts.
That's why they keep winning; they do the things that their constituents want.

5. Just like the Stimulus Bill?
and now all their azzes are at photo-ops cutting ribbons and holding big checks and taking credit for something that they said was going to DESTROY this country!

HCR will be like the stimulus bill. When their voters SEE the results, the rethugs will change their tone. That is why they are so focus on stopping it. They CAN NOT allow their base to see how HCR will really affect their lives. If that happen, it could be all she wrote.

Their base might not vote for Obama (he don't need their votes anyway)but could and would vote for someone who looked like them and could go to Washington and actually work with Obama to get them what they need.

4. Two things R's are very good at is staying on message and
acting in unison. As soon as the bill is signed, expect to hear the word "mandate" many thousands of times as in:

"The Democrat (sic) mandate picks your pockets."

"The Democrat mandate fines you if you don't go along with their socialist scheme."

"This used to be a free country. Not any more since the Democrats came up with their mandate."

I suspect they will pay no political price for voting "no," and I predict they will make big gains come November.

8. They are even better at having a media that works for them.
It's not as much that they stay on message,
it's that the media makes their message bigger.

9. That would be cool if A) the bill works and B) their voters were rational
I hope it plays out as you laid out but I think it is pretty optimistic on either count.
