We will take what we can get

after too many months of analyzing the crap out of the bill most of us have never seen,
I am ready to say bring it on, whatever it is.
Whatever you elected officials have come up with, we the people will avail ourselves to.

I had moments of wanting more
I had moments of wanting less
I had moments of thinking the ship was sinking
I had moments of thinking it would sail through smoothly.
I have held every possible position twice.
Thats how long We have been talking about it.

I was wrong every time because every time another chapter of the story unfolded,over and over again.

to those opposed:

if it works, if it actually helps several million people,
Your grim predictions will evaporate, and you will embrace the very thing you now oppose

To those strongly in favor:

there will be absurdities
there will be legitimate gripes and oversights.


for myself:
if it helps a few million people, makes their life just a bit easier,
reduces one serious worry, in a genuine way we will have won.
did what we, the Democratic Party, set out to do
helping some people was what it was about all along.
Then:
It is a victory.

All of the above. It's a loss and it's a victory. It's hopefully a beginning, one that I'm grateful for.
