p. Paul Broun Compares Health Care Reform To "The Great War Of Yankee Aggression"

http://mediamattersaction.org/blog/201003190002

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) is a fanatical opponent of health care reform, who has suggested that President Obama might "declare martial law" and rule as a dictator. In recent days, the right-wing congressman has made Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) the target of his fury, calling her arrogant, ignorant, and incompetent. Last night on the House floor, Broun continued his streak of combative statements by comparing health care reform to the American Civil War, which he called "The Great War of Yankee Aggression."

BROUN: If ObamaCare passes, that free insurance card that's in people's pockets is gonna be as worthless as a Confederate dollar after the War Between The States -- the Great War of Yankee Aggression.

-snip video-

One question: What free insurance card?

1. He's possibly a few sandwiches shy of a picnic?
I have never heard of a free insurance card either..maybe he has one as a congressman..and I also have never heard of the Civil war called the Great War of Yankee Aggression.
I think those kinds of people should consider themselves lucky..if the North hadn't won the Civil war and the country split, they would have to get a passport to come to the United States.

6. No kidding. I wish.
I'm just hoping to buy into something with pre-existing conditions.

I sure wish Obama was the far-left socialist that they proclaim he is.

5. Put a tally mark in the 'anti' column for a neoconfederate nutjob
To the remaining 'progressives' posting on DU who remain intransigent on this bill: you're not impressing anyone here with the company you keep. Consider that you find yourselves on the same side as:

* freeps/teabaggers

* the Republican party

* Rash Limbo/Shammity/Clown Blecch

* the US Chamber of Commerce

* insurance companies

* and now...neoconfederates

Even if some are willing to generously give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that your motives are as pure as the left-wing-driven snow, the end result is still the same, and your bedmates stink to high heaven. Personally, I'm not so generous, as I believe a good 1/3 - 1/2 of you are trolls.
