This was a call out to Stupak and all the other Democratic politicians who forgot
where they have come from.

Something inspired you to get involved, and something inspired you to be a Democrat instead of running as a Republican. Because somewhere deep in your heart you said to yourself, I believe in an America in which we don’t just look out for ourselves, that we don’t just tell people you’re on your own, that we are proud of our individualism, we are proud of our liberty, but we also have a sense of neighborliness and a sense of community - (applause) - and we are willing to look out for one another and help people who are vulnerable and help people who are down on their luck and give them a pathway to success and give them a ladder into the middle class. That’s why you decided to run.

this is a President to be proud of. After all the compromises, after all the cut backs to reform, there is a choice to be made tomorrow. Do Democratic politicians want to help create a Country that looks out for the people at the bottom?

2. I hope it is not true.
Every compromise has been towards the likes of Nelson, etc. Kerry, Franken, Bernie Sanders et al could have had a hissy fit over the lack of a public option. I think that it is deeply wrong, but the promise of having a maximum 9.5% contribution towards health insurance costs and increasing the numbers covered for health care by 31 million was too great a price.

To have America enter the league of civilised countries with near universal health care was too great a price.

Tomorrow, America either becomes a civilised nation or it hands the keys over to the far right who just love the idea of people who die for lack of health care, so much they chuck dollars at an infirm man.
