8. I love the sign "We will clean house in November,"
Yeah, we scared. They couldn't stop Obama and a large Democratic majority from being elected in 2008 even though I'm sure all those racist haters came out to vote against him. So what makes them think their pathetic little group can affect anything?

You morons voted for the GOP in the last election. Look how far that got you!

11. I agree Phx_Dem
the only way they win is if we don't show up. And judging by the small elections we've lost in 2009(VA governor) & 2010 (Scott Brown)dems have not been showing up. Hopefully after HC passes, dems will be rejuvenated like in 2008, because many of us/them have been sleeping.

9. The stupidity is breathtaking
You may or may not support this bill, and many here would have preferred a public option/single payer/universal health care. Okay. But this is what we got. It is beyond irony that these clowns do not realize that this is a major boon for the private sector - granted, one portion of the private sector - insurance companies - but the private sector nonetheless. Tyranny? Government takeover? Socialized health care? I know, they get their info from FN, but, jeez, have they no ability to think anything through?

For those who have employer-based health insurance, nothing will change, except maybe their employers will stay in business because health insurance costs will be somewhat contained.

For those who have private insurance, their insurance premiums will go down and there are protections in place regarding pre-existing conditions and payment caps, and caps on insurance premiums. Sure, insurance companies will try to skirt the rules, and, sure some of them will succeed, but there is now an opportunity to call them on it.

So far, the only government involvement is positive.

For those without insurance, sure, you now have to buy it. (Hooray for the private sector - the free market at work, so what do you have to fear?) But there is a cap on your premiums based on your income, and the fear of bankruptcy due to medical costs is reduced. And over the long run the deficit is reduced. Sure, you may not like paying for insurance, but the fact remains that there is no such thing as a free lunch. The public option, medicare buy-in, etc. would result in increased taxes. You, and the rest of us, are going to pay regardless of the approach. If you have medicare now, my understanding is that there are modifications that eliminate or reduce the donut hole. And efforts to control fraud, waste, and mismanagement are just plain sensible. In fact, that was the mantra in the USG during the Reagan and Bush I years. Eliminate waste, fraud, and mismanagement. That's sensible whether it's the USG or the private sector. There's waste, fraud and mismanagement in every department, not least defense.

If these people can't stand government involvement in their lives, then bow out of medicare, social security, and other socialized services provided by federal, state, and local governments. And if they want to violate the provisions of this bill, then they should commit to paying all their medical costs in cash and in full.

And, once again, you have to note the obvious Medicare recipients in the crowd. The ugly, yelling, white woman either has a dirty face or should be checked for skin cancer . . . if she has insurance.

23. I wonder how many of them know that Michelle Bachman is a welfare queen:
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/michelle_bachman_welfare_queen_20091221/

But data compiled from federal records by Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit watchdog that tracks the recipients of agricultural subsidies in the United States, shows that Bachmann has an inner Marxist that is perfectly at ease with profiting from taxpayer largesse. According to the organization’s records, Bachmann’s family farm received $251,973 in federal subsidies between 1995 and 2006. The farm had been managed by Bachmann’s recently deceased father-in-law and took in roughly $20,000 in 2006 and $28,000 in 2005, with the bulk of the subsidies going to dairy and corn. Both dairy and corn are heavily subsidized—or “socialized”—businesses in America (in 2005 alone, Washington spent $4.8 billion propping up corn prices) and are subject to strict government price controls. These subsidies are at the heart of America’s bizarre planned agricultural economy and as far away from Michele Bachmann’s free-market dream world as Cuba’s free medical system. If American farms such as hers were forced to compete in the global free market, they would collapse.
