1. I liked his speech.
He's cute, too, in a grandfatherly way. Hope that's not too offensive to say.

2. Dingell, physically frail but fiery in spirit, was a poingnant presence at this event.
It was a good thing to have him there.

4. My Congressman. I'm proud of him and for him tonight.
He and his father have been fighting this healthcare war for a lot longer than folks know.

8. My niece has been volunteering as one of his Congressional aides
So tonight I am very proud of her work, since she was concentrating on the Health Care Act.

Dingell ROCKS!

11. Yes, I am very proud of her - she wants to work for NGOs
But has not landed a permanent position since getting her Master's from George Washington University. Working on the Health Care Bill was a cause she could believe in and keeps her in front of the right people.

It was hysterical at the last family get together. My parents, her grandparents, who are very conservative, offered to get her a job with Adam Putnam, conservative Republican a**hole that they have donated tons of money to. The niece politely declined, but Dad did not understand why she would turn the "opportunity" down. We gently tried to explain to him that she did not want to work on that side of the aisle - he just thought of it as an opening into working in politics. :wtf:

10. A huge thank you to Congressman Dingell for perseverance
The gavel he gave to Nancy Pelosi was a perfect touch.
