"Baby Killer" shout came from Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Lubbock, TX
Edited on Mon Mar-22-10 01:28 PM by Jennicut
Rep. Randy Neugebauer, a Lubbock Republican, has fessed up to shouting "Baby Killer!" at Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., during the health care debate last night.

His office has just issued a statement saying he regrets the remark and has apologized directly to Stupak.

Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health care bill that my constituents fear and do not support. In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase 'it's a baby killer' in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership. While I remain heartbroken over the passage of this bill and the tragic consequences it will have for the unborn, I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself.

"I have apologized to Mr. Stupak and also apologize to my colleagues for the manner in which I expressed my disappointment about the bill. The House Chamber is a place of decorum and respect. The timing and tone of my comment last night was inappropriate."

Here is a pic of this idiot:

And I don't buy his calling the bill "a baby killer". I think he pretty much threw it out at Stupak.

1. Why did he shout to Stupak if it was not intended for him.
Next thing we will hear is that Wilson was not shouting at Obama.

2. Fessed up hell, he is probably proud of rudeness of his actions
These people have no sense of dignity. It is just about attacking the political opponent.

12. It is too bad. All of my family were Texans and I was pretty much scorned
when I left after college to go live in NYC. I couldn't take it any more. But I loved my family. They were good people...now they are all gone with the exceptions of some first cousins, once removed...so I feel sadness, along with pride for the Ann Richards' and the Molly Ivins' and Jim Hightowers' of the state.

13. You are a transplanted Yankee now! CT is certainly different from Texas.
Edited on Mon Mar-22-10 02:43 PM by Jennicut
My family is all from NY or CT but my parents lived in Texas for a short time when my Dad was in El Paso. He was in the army during the late 60's. He was at Fort Bliss, I think that was the name of it. My mom said there were cockroaches the size of my baby shoes. And it was hot and flat. She missed New England. I guess it was a culture shock. Certainly seems very different from up here.

18. A lot of people up here don't understand that leaving Texas is considered
something nearly traitorous...I have never heard of another state that gets so worked up over people leaving...on one of my trips to Dallas to see my mother someone on the airport shuttle told me that it wasn't til he was a teenager that he found out he COULD leave Texas! LOL!

20. Wow...around here everyone would just say.."Okay, less congestion on the roads
for the rest of us!". Ah, that New England spirit. At least in CT we don't beep at each other constantly like they do in Mass.

24. I was a kid when Alaska was admitted to the union and TX was no longer the largest state.
You would not believe the outcry! My mother finally got fed up with it and told Daddy to just shut up about it, that it was a stupid thing to get upset about...it was funny watching the grown ups having fits over something so DUMB...

6. Fake apology
"In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase 'it's a baby killer' in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership," Neugebauer said. "I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself."

They always make excuses for their stupid disgusting outbursts.

15. It is still ridiculously inappropriate and a sign of how low they wish to bring debate BUT
and everyone, obviously, can and should listen to decide for themselves, but I've listened a few times, and I really think he does say "THIS is a baby killer."

I think that is what people will eventually come to agree on as the accepted version of what he said.

It is still representative of exactly the sort of disgusting, inflammatory, disrespectful behavior that defines the dangerous Republican strategy of incivility and stirring up unstable hatred.

17. Texas...

The clear front-runner in the category "Mapping Escorts" is Texas in general and Dallas in particular which appears as the most specialized metropolitan area in escort services in the U.S. The nearby city/suburb of Plano contains the highest rank.
