Obama: "I Promised Teddy".
A good one to remember.

http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2009/08/26/kennedy_dead_at_77/?page=10

Despite his illness, Senator Kennedy made a forceful appearance at the Democratic convention in Denver, exhorting his party to victory and declaring that the fight for universal health insurance had been “the cause of my life.’’

He pursued that cause vigorously, and even as his health declined, he spent days reaching out to colleagues to win support for a sweeping overhaul; when members of Obama’s administration questioned the president’s decision to spend so much political capital on the seemingly intractable health care issue, Obama reportedly replied, “I promised Teddy.’’

1. This may have been reciprocity as well as sentimental...
...Teddy's support gave him a huge bump over Hillary during the primaries.

3. Idiocy

"members of Obama’s administration questioned the president’s decision to spend so much political capital on the seemingly intractable health care issue"

Don't these members understand how important this issue is? The idiocy of these members is appalling.

4. The President needs new advisors.
Although he does not lack the intelligence to choose who to listen to, Senator Kennedy for example.

5. actually I'm glad he has advisors that will challenge him
I'd rather have advisors that question the president and thus forge the strongest defense for his actions than have him advised by a bunch of yes men (and women).

7. Good point. Certainly his advisors don't seem to be interferring with his ability to

get a difficult job done. Still I think that Teddy Kennedy gave him the best advice.
