40. oklahoma is totally f. stupid repugs in the state congress is |
|
passing every stupid repug talking point in the world. one of the nuts is trying to get a bill passed that would allow the local police to not have to cooperate with the fbi involving hate crimes.
I've been listening to the local right wing radio show (talk 1000 am) and yesterday the local talk host informed the listeners that health car is a luxury not a right, that the insurance company should be allowed to charge whatever they wanted, because we don't have to pay the premium which would cause the insurance company to go broke (yeah right), and if you could not afford health insurance it sucked to be you. those are his exact words.
so if you have the tears, I would say yes weep for oklahoma.

9. The only thing you should take from this interview is that |
|
the GOP had their chance for 6 years to do something about health care...
They didn't so much as introduce a legitimate bill...
I don't care if he is the chairman of the Mayo Clinic he lost all creditability as far as any sentient being should be concerned...
You know what, there are 200 gop amendments in the bill, 200...

Sort of like their cat-killer, Bill Frist. My guess is why he seemed to "make sense" is that he, as a doctor, probably knows how to frame the issue in keen sounding language.

who claimed that Oklahoma high school girls were going into the rest rooms at school as heterosexuals and coming out as lesbians. Yes, he actually said that girls were being turned into lesbians in high school girls' bathrooms. How he got elected after that tells you everything you need to know about the majority of Oklahoma voters. And yes, I used to live there so I know a little about the rightwingers who populate the state.

|
As a member of C Street Coburn was involved with The Family trying to buy off Ensign's mistress.
In an interview in 2004 he said that "I favor the death penalty for abortionists and other people who take life."
He is way out there on the right. Unfortunately I am stuck with him as one of my senators.

I know some here don't like or trust him, but I think he is good.
Not everyone has to be clearly on the left on things.
I see him trying to find middle ground with a lot of his R guests, but I think he also points out a lot of the big gaps Rs have. I think he just wants to be respectful of them, and not jump on their heads ...
Meanwhile, he does not go out of his way to kill Ds, which to me is even worse than kissing Rs butts ...
I think he leans more toward the truth on things and is pretty strong about it ...

and yes he did seem to make sense, but all I could think of was why hasn't he spoken like this before. All we've heard from the right this past year is a whole lot of crazy. I didn't agree with a lot of what he said, but at least he made some reasonable points. Sorry, I am not good at recapping what people say on TV and much of what he said didn't stick all that much. I'm just acknowledging that he didn't speak in the usual republican "talking points" language.
