If the health bill is so bad, why are the RePUKES trying to block it???? |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 06:01 AM by RBInMaine
Bob Scheiffer recently asked Lamar Alexander, "If this bill is so bad and you are convinced the Democrats will lose seats over it, why try to block it? Why not just allow an up or down vote?" Alexander replied, "Well, we couldn't be that irresponsible." Yeah right. So the lying hyprocritical scumlords show again how very full of shit they are. Truth be told, they are PETRIFIED. Their entire strategy is: block EVERYTHING and make the Dems look weak and ineffectual. Simple as that. So that is why they are now trying to block reconciliation. Well guess what RePUKElican asshats, your shitty little fake cynical stinking turd of a strategy is now sailing right down your shitty little toilet bowl. Dems will be REWARDED for accomplishing this historic milestone, and we have only just started. So, GOPissAnts, enjoy YOUR "Waterloo." And we'll see you in NOVEMBER you pathetic band of racist, ignorant, stupid, redneck, flat-Earther, heartless, brainless, corporate-owned scumwads.

1. Pretty much the way it is |
|
The GOPukes don't care about anything except derailing the Obama administration. They have a very clear understanding of the fact that the reality is that is their ONLY tactic that has a chance of working.
If they let O get 20% of what he's after the GOP is dead, dead, dead, and so are the individual ambitions of their "leadership".
They are like cornered rats, only not as attractive.

7. Cuz they don't read DU! |
|
If they did, they'd know better. They'd understand that standing aside with sorrowful looks and doing nothing to interfere would ensure a landslide victory for them in November and the election of Sarah Palin in 2012.
DU has taught me all of that.

8. Back in the 90s, the Rs decided a successful healthcare bill from the Ds |
|
would cost the Rs a generation of voters. So they set out to kill Clinton's healthcare effort dead dead dead. Since they seldom have new ideas, they're still that same old game today
You'd think somebody on the other side of the aisle would say, Hey! The voters really want this, so let's get on board and do our best and take some credit, because that would be the smart and right thing to do. But, of course, we're talking about a party whose base consists of wingnut Texas billionaires and bitter outcast segregationists and "Christian" dispensationalists who want the US to support Israel in hopes that Armageddon will break out in the Middle East and Israel will be destroyed and the new millennium will dawn -- so there's no really point expecting rational thought

10. The insurance companies paid us to pass it and paid the republicans to "appear" to oppose it, |
|
so they can campaign against it and repeal it. You need to read your memos more often. And I thought I was behind the curve on understanding this chess game. ;)

11. That's what their base wants and demands of them. If they had played along |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 01:38 PM by kenny blankenship
they would now be in for the same treatment the GOP brownshirts are directing towards Democratic officials, and their base would be turned off in November.
Just imagine what a beautiful day it would for America if the Democrats had passed the kind of bill THEIR base wanted (but didn't have the courage to demand).

12. Because they are exactly like the supporters of the bill--neither faction by now |
|
--actually gives a shit what is actually in it. Dems support it to support Obama, and Repubs oppose it just because Obama is for it.

Yep- but what works out even better for them is that- as often as not, they get right leaning corporate policy to boot!

14. I think a lot of the opposition is political grandstanding and theatre |
|
Let's not forget that this bill is very identical to what Romney proposed. I don't think many of them hate it as much as they say they do. The major issue is wanting to see Obama fail. They direly want him to be another Carter, no success. As far the whole "losing a generation of voters," I don't think the current HCR bill is THAT powerful. If they had added the Public Option, then maybe. But it'll be years before the effect of this bill will be understood. It's not like the Civil Rights Act which was immediate.
