Frank Luntz passed out the new talking point meme last night |
|
"Repeal and Replace and Reform"...heard it twice already this morning, from McConnell and Rove. I was getting tired of the "Ram down the throat" one been I had hearing for the last two weeks.
Like they did anything in 8 years towards reform.

Call it what it really is -- a propaganda slogan.

Frank Luntz framed the entire "Global Warming is bunk" propaganda from the early nineties.
Fifty years from now he will be recognized as one of the main architects preventing US governmental action on climate change, which will probably be wrecking the civilized world permanently starting in the next ten or twenty years.
His place in history will be somewhere between Adolf Hitler and Lee Harvey oswald, in other words.

12. This has to be the most riduclous "slogan" of all time... |
|
It virtually guarantees defeat
Repeal: Bring back pre-existing conditions; a lifetime cap; tossed off of your insurance if you get ill
Replace: With what? The GOP has nothing...
Reform: How? Once again, the GOP has nothing.
Even the most radical will see this as a drop back to the late 19th Century. Sure, some of them would like to go back to that age, right up until the realized they would really have to work, life expectancy was about 50, and there were no safety nets at all.
I just hope they paid Luntz a LOT of money for that...

16. Repeal, Replace, Reform - Rediculous! |
|
Let's face it. About 25% of the voting public are completely out of their minds. They will never, EVER warm up the Healthcare Reform -- particularly since it came from the black guy. They will oppose reform with their dying breath.
Fortunately, 75% of the voting public is reasonable sane and intelligent. If nothing else, they know where their bread is buttered, and when they have a chance to see that the new system isn't anything at all like the conservatives and said in their apocalyptic rants, they're going to only embrace it, but start asking for it be improved and expanded.
The Republican Party is whistling past the graveyard. Having been hijacked by the radical fringe, most of the sensible members of Congress are either retiring or will do so in the near future. They're staking their electoral future on the American people voting against their self-interest. Voters have done that in the past, but I believe those days are over.
