Getting Out of Hand
I'm not sure it's hyperbole any more to say that we've now got a small scale domestic terror campaign going on against members of Congress who voted for Health Care Reform. We already noted the handful of incidents over the weekend in the offices of Democratic members of Congress had their offices vandalized in response to their votes in favor of Reform. While that was happening, a Tea Partier in Virginia suggested people "drop by" the home of Rep. Tom Perriello. But they mistakenly provided the address of Periello's brother.

Now the FBI is investigating an incident in which someone apparently cut the gas line into Perriello's brother's home, thinking it was the congressman's residence.

edit- If the GOP doesn't rope their crazies back in something bad is going to happen. This is getting out of control.

12. On a spectrum of behavior, you can see the first stage emerging.
We are in the same pre-conditions that existed in Chile prior to 1973 and Argentina prior to 1976.

The same team that was responsible for Chile 1973 & Argentina 1976 (Kissinger, Friedman, Rumsfeld, Neocon luminaries) -- and the CIA-sponsored "Dirty War" of systemic disappearance, torture & murder of "Leftists" and moderates that happened there -- is also currently a sizeable faction of the Pentagon.

Obama & Democrats may hold majorities in two branches of government.

But the Supreme Court & the defacto 4th branch (Pentagon) and the media are a stronghold of Neocons and Fundamentalist Christians.

It's only a matter of time before Republicans re-take power and declare a "domestic threat" that must be "purged". The conditions for an identical "Dirty War" (as South America in the 1970s) are already here.

4. Ya know what? I shouldn't say it but someone has to. Bring It
The Fuck On! I think we should all be prepared to defend ourselves. I know I'm ready and willing to take my chances.
The way these wack jobs will end up looking should be worth the risk. Republicans that are egging them on can't imagine the backlash. Then there is the pleasure of seeing them have their asses handed to them!

9. I disagree. The Republican leadership is taking us to the precipice,
we need to calm things down. Yeah, they're the ones responsible, but if things get out of hand kids lose their parents, parents lose their kids.

11. You're probably right. I'm not the one receiving death threats.
It's easy for me with no kids. Look what "bring it on" did for Bush and our troops. It's their ass if they push it though.

10. I've been thinking the same. A lot.
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 06:01 PM by DeschutesRiver
I am so tired of listening to their escalating threats, and not happy to see their initial efforts to act upon them. I am done making excuses for their increasingly bad behavior.

It has been decades since anything has riled up my Irish like this has done lately. I am calm, but kind of like the calm before a storm, should it get to that point. I hope not, but I am "Fired up. Ready to go".

That's been running through my mind quite a bit, but probably not in the way that Obama meant it.
