Source: Robert Ehrlich to Run for Governor
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Former Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich (web | news | bio) has decided to make another run for the governor's office, an informed source tells ABC 7 News.

A spokesman for Ehrlich said he could not confirm or deny our source's information.

The source indicated Ehrlich would formally announce his bid Wednesday, April 7, in Rockville, followed by an event at his childhood home in Arbutus.

"I think it's a fair choice," said Diane Comfort. "Why not? Why shouldn't he run again?"

1. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ahahashahahahahahah
guffaw guffaw....does he think people forget the mess he made. He doesn't have butthole steele to run with him to try to get the black vote and run around and pull all the dirty dirty tricks they did last time. The Democrats are wise to him now...he will get blown away.

They went into the poor sections of Baltimore and Prince Georges and put up signs that they would have to vote on Wednesday because the machines couldn't be fixed til then and lot didn't show up. They posted signs on peoples door and said if they were behind in their utility payments there would be police there to arrest them til they paid up. and all kinds of stuff like that. EHRLICH IS A CROOK. He is still under investigation for a deal he tried to pull thru the airport. How does he think he is going to get around that...oh I know he is a republican and like Delay their troubles seem to melt away. No arrest no jail time.Bet Ensign gets away with his crookedness also.

3. Sadly I'm afraid that he'll have a chance. As BLUE as this state is,

there are some real winners outside of the major areas. They loved Ehrlich and he was fairly popular even though he made a mess of things. O'Malley beat him, but only marginally.

And even though the Post reported the absolutely despicable behavior that he and Steele engaged in, they still got away with it because no one held them accountable. They are so disgusting!! :puke:

4. Actually (former long-term Maryland resident here), Maryland isn't as blue as people think. If you
look at a map of the state by voting districts and how people voted in the last election, the whole state is actually red, except for a swath of blue running down the central Maryland corridor. The only reason Democrats always win Maryland in national elections is that the large majority of the state's population lives in that central corridor. But the entire Eastern Shore, and pretty much everything west of Baltimore county (with the exception of a little island around the DC suburbs), the whole state is as red as a tomato.

7. I'm a Marylander, too, and agreed with you. As I said, outside of the *major* areas...
Baltimore City, Prince George's County, MoCo, this state is pretty purple. We got silly Tea Baggers now.

My point is that I wouldn't be surprised if Ehrlich actually has a chance.

The state is reliably BLUE when voter turnout is high. It goes RED (and purple at times, too) depending on the current political environment and when people don't vote.

Ehrlich was pretty popular. He lost mainly because he ran in a year when being a Republican was a Scarlet Letter.
