25. If the American people know that is the Repuke's minions doing it.
If the people do NOT know, and know well, that this terrorism is being done by the minions of the Repuke party, it will just be horses' asses doing bad things. M$M needs to start doing their jobs and make SURE the American people are educated.

No one is using terrorist tactics. A few people have gone overboard, but it's not like we're all under a threat.

A nation like ours will never be destroyed by a foreign enemy. We will destroy ourselves, by our false patriotism, warmongering, immorality, pride and greed.

14. We're well on our way
to self destruction. People don't want to face up to it, on either side. The false patriotism and warmongering and immorality are undermining our finances. I voted for Obama to get that under control. I thought that's what we're about. Instead he has escalated it. Can't face up to what needs to be done. We're about 3 years behind Greece, but headed down that path. At least they don'r an out-of-control war machine to support.

9. "A few people have gone overboard"
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 07:32 PM by ProSense
How many is a few, and how many is required before the tactics are deemed terrorism?

Let's face it, this is a consistent pattern that's escalating...it's terrorism. Does anyone think that cutting the gas line to someone's home at the suggestion of another is not?

11. Has there been any violence
Come on, it's all words from a very few people. Where I live, I haven't seen any armed struggle as a result of the vote. Everyone seems to be going on as normal. Not even one demonstrator, anywhere. There's been no force used against anyone in the country of 300 million people. Get a grip man. It's nothing more than what goes on any day in any city. The authorities can handle anything that comes up. Most people are just pissed, about things like the deficit and out-of-control spending, which this health care bill represented more of. Unfortunately, neither side seems to be pissed about the wars and the MIC, which are sucking up all our money.

Throwing bricks through windows, vandalizing property and cutting a gas line is not "all words."

19. This was even a wrong address situation
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 09:13 PM by Tippy
POLITICO reported on Monday that Mike Troxel, an organizer for the Lynchburg Tea Party, posted on his blog what he thought was the congressman’s address, encouraging tea party activists to “drop by.”

The address has since been posted on websites of at least one other local tea party activist.

In my book this is terrorism, the people who encourages this behavior are criminals and should be held accountable.....

21. But put it in context
Compare it to the amount of criminal violence on any normal day in D.C. It's really minor. Almost all of the resistance will be channeled into the political system this fall. I just don't see a few threats or a couple acts of violence as representing a terrorist movement.

this:

reminds me of the Repubs comparing Iraq to DC.

26. What does the amount of violence have to do with it being terrorism?
The people doing these acts are terrorists. Their goal is to intimidate, to strike fear into people, to disrupt the workings of government, and they are both threatening and acting out violence to do it. Whether it is happening in your area, as you pointed out above, also has nothing to do with it being terrorism. Nobody flew planes into my town on 9/11, so would it make sense for me to say flying those planes into buildings is no act of terrorism? I just don't understand why you are making light of these acts.

22. All it takes is words for this to be a felony criminal threat in many states...
Certain "words" are not allowed... people have been put away for years because of their "words" that were deemed criminal threats.

10. What they are doing is the exact definition of terrorist tactics. Nothing in there
says 100% of the populace has to be "under a threat".

Stop defending terrorists.

20. The hell we aren't...
If this isn't nipped in the bud, they will become empowered... in some states this is called a "criminal threat" and can be charged as a felony.
