1. I think a lot of people are concerned
about acts of violence aimed at Democratic leaders. The lunatic fringe is seething and has been for months. Sadly, I would put nothing past them. Nothing.

3. I have been saying that since last spring ... And ...
BO and company are not going to just take a vacation, they are going to move on and deal with real issues, and the smoke is showing that he wants to take on imigration ...

Remember three summers ago with immigration, when BUSH was president, how batsnot crazy the wingers were THEN?

Someone IS going to get end up going off the deep end if they take on immigration ...

10. Nope. People have hinted that the next issue will be
immigration but I don't think so. I think he will focus on jobs and EFCA.

6. Obama will be fine
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 08:15 PM by brentspeak
Presidents have multiple layers of Secret Service protecting them at all times, along with all other kinds of assistance to the Secret Service. It's the Congressional Democrats I worry about. The FBI and state and local LE had better get cracking on the violent RWer problem; there is no question it is real.

7. He's still high on my list ever since that night those stupid freaks entered the white house.
Ever since that moment. I appreciate the SS, but that showed to me...that I can't trust them 100% to protect the President. So I'll take your, "Obama will be fine..." with a grain of salt.

18. It will only take one shot fired at a Dem to ensure that the Repukes
get to see what a REAL bloodbath is in November. Nothing would get out the voters more than that, and big turnouts are always good for us.

22. Sometimes certain Congress members will get special protection...
this needs to be one of those times. I do agree, I worry about the Reps, Senators and family members of those in Congress the most.

9. I'm going to call my Sen. tomorrow...
... Sen. Corker has been urging that the GOP try to work with the Dems on financial reform and I want to encourage him to continue to do that.

But I think I'll ask him to take a stand against this BS. Partisan "fighting" is fun but, ultimately, they are all brothers and sisters in Congress and they should all be empathetic about what the Dems are going through.

No one should face death threats/harassment because of their votes regardless of their party or how they voted.

11. Violence happens every day in Afghanistan
an no one says a damn word. Hundreds of innocent people die and it's of no concern -- it's what he promised us he would do. Obama just used a drone to kill two pregnant women and their kids. Nobody cares. But let someone cut a gas line in Virginia and the world is coming to an end. It's hard to take seriously.

13. What's so hard to understand
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 09:48 PM by jeanpalmer
This right wing uprising is just a tempest in a teapot. It's almost all verbal. Easily manageable. The authorities will take care of it if it turns criminal. How many people have been killed or injured? You're exagerrating it. There's a lot more real violence in the world that you're not very concerned about. Obama kills more people in a week in Afghanistan than will ever die at the hands of the Teabaggers. And do you care?

Ludicrous.

Even more ridiculous is trivializing RW violence and death threats because you don't approve of the war in Afghanistan.

27. Does the Speaker get SS protection?
You would think she might, since she's in the line of succession. She ought to, since she's been a magnet for RW hate for over a year now, and its only going to get worse.

21. Alan Grayson called into the Mike Malloy show tonight.
He said that the teabaggers have been calling in death threats to his home in Florida. Including one instance when his 5 year old child answered the phone.

Mike Malloy and his family have also been threatened several times.

Any piece of shit that would threaten a 5 year old child doesn't even deserve the luxury of due process. If it were my child, they wouldn't live to see a trial :grr:

Total proof that to teabaggers, liberal are the total enemy....including our children.

25. I absolutely agree
When I read about people finding coffins on their lawn, I believe in Mo? Democrat Carnahan...and that the lives of children of those who voted for HCR, have been threatened...I figure it's going too far..I have been on sites where people are talking some serious shit...and celebrating when anything is done...such as gas lines being cut to someone's home, and the other things I mentioned above....imo, anyone who isn't taking this serious...isn't thinking clearly...and anyone who thinks it's going away need to remember...these are the same people who said they'd never accept a black man as President...and have been working behind the scenes ever since he was elected, to cause trouble however they could...so he's been in office over a year...has it gotten better? or has it gotten worse, as the days went by???? imo, worse...so as "they" say, there's your sign....

The ones threatening violence..seem to be quite willing to accept the consequences OF that violence and that's what's frightening..do we think there isn't any organization to what's going on...??? then how are things happening in different states at the same time?..Yeah, I'm concerned about the undercurrents and the depths of the rage I am sensing...I lived through the deaths of the 60's...I don't care to have that happen again...wb

26. People already have been hurt, and even killed. It is RW domestic terrorism...
... they just don't target shopping malls, they target Unitarian churches and buildings that house the IRS and doctors that provide abortions. Then people die.
