1st rule of politics: Divide and Conquer. So why is the GOP trying so hard to unite Democrats? |
|
They really ARE rudderless.
A month ago, Democrats were dispirited - many still are. We were fighting each other as much as we were fighting the GOP.
But almost every action taken by the GOP since Sunday seems designed to make the Republicans look so bat-shit crazy and downright scary that all sane people will begin rallying TO the side of the Democrats.
Do they think that death threats and shutting down the business of congress will move MORE independents in their direction?
If I had infiltrated the Republican National Committee's inner sanctum and wanted to make them drive as many voters away from them as possible, I would be advising them to take exactly the actions they've been taking the past week.
Come to think of it... maybe one of us has done just that.... It certainly seems so.

I come to is they really believe that their tactics are going to win over the American people.
The violence has taken it to another level, I believe they will continue to lose moderates who do not want to be associated with violent domestic terrorist.
They are rudderless and they have a loud mouth fat head on the radio, a dingbat floozy putting crosshairs on maps and a clearly demented psych case on tv.....these are their leaders.
The other point I would make is the Repugs jumped onto the teabagger nation thinking that the movement would be their savior.....except that it turns out that it's turning into their Titanic and the teabaggers are the iceberg. The Repugs can't dissasociate themselves from the teabaggers if they wanted to.....they miscalculated and it's going to cost them.

3. It appears they have decided to incite violence. |

I don't quite understand how they see this playing out, what the end game is that has an outcome they view as positive, but the obvious explanation for the organized activities that started early last summer is that the republican central committee, or whoever it is that plots and plans for them, intended to create a climate of violent domestic political unrest that has now come to fruition.

Passage of universal health care was the final battle. Big government has won. Liberalism won. They know that it will never ever be repealed. The debate over the size and scope of government is essentially over. All that's left is quibbling over details, like we see in Europe.
