A Coffin Isn't A 'Threat' or 'Intimidation'

by DiegoUK

The latest atrocity of the Far Reich American Taliban's retched up rhetoric has come to light in the form of a coffin being placed upon the lawn of the family home of Missouri Democrat Rep. Russ Carnahan.

But it was no threat, claims St. Louis Tea Party Coalition and religious fanatic blogger Jim Hoft, owner of the Gateway Pundit blog, who stated, "So obviously it came as quite a shock tonight to see that the Carnahan people and the Democratic-media complex had twisted this innocent prayer vigil into some kind of threat against Russ Carnahan."

But first, a disclaimer from Jim Hoft:

Remember as you read this: There is nothing the democratic-media complex will not do to lie about the tea party patriots or to prop up these horrid leftists who are transforming our country into some kind of quasi-socialist state.

O.. K..

And now on with the facts.

At approx. 11:30 last night, Jim Hoft of the blog 'Gateway Pundit' on First Things, a monthly ecumenical journal founded by Roman Catholic theologian Richard John Neuhaus, which is focused on creating a 'religiously informed public philosophy for the ordering of society' (highlight mine), and members of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition held a 'vigil', with a coffin, outside Russ Carnahan’s office.

They then proceeded to the house member's home for a 'prayer service', with the coffin.

Hoft, who expresses outrage at the "State-Run Media" for accusing "Tea Party Organizer of Terrorism For Posting Congressman’s Address" (said address actually being the home of the congressman's brother and his family, where extremists cut the gas supply lines earlier that same day) accepts no consternation for showing up outside the private home of an elected official with a coffin in a week of numerous threats and violent and bigoted incidents. He blames the media and says they, and Rep. Carnahan, are 'lying'.

He doesn't dispute that he, and his 'society ordering' accomplices, took a coffin to Carnahan's private home and placed it on his lawn. Rather, in Hoft's twisted mind it is a 'lie' to see it as a threat. He expresses the belief that he had the perfect right to stalk Carnahan at his home with a coffin and terrorize his family and is angry with the media for not supporting him and his Tea Party 'activists'.

<...>

Oddly enough, for all the denials that their actions were a threat to the Congressman and his family, the picture of the 'vigil' on Hoft's blog is labeled and saved as "carnahan-death-panel":

2. I love the rationalizing going on ...
"No, we didn't put the coffin on his lawn. We put it on the sidewalk in front of his home."

I guess that a burning cross right at the edge of your lawn, but not on it, is not intimidation ...

claiming that it was done by liberals and then blamed on conservatives to make them look bad. Another story is that it is the fault of the liberals that various groups are acting this way because we should have known things like this would happen if they were pushed too hard.

They never accept the responsibility of their own actions.

Edit for spelling/grammar.

6. This rhetoric from the right is projecton:
They think that because they engage in false-flag operations and various dirty tricks that the left must do it to.

"They never accept the responsibility of their own actions."

This is a classic characteristic of someone who is an active substance abuser.

victims and no one's going to take that away from them.

They never take responsibility for anything and the corporatemedia supports them.

8. Maybe they put the coffin on the grass between the sidewalk and the street.
So they can technically say it was not on his "lawn" - it is in the public right of way - even though he mows it and most reasonable people (which excludes these people)would consider that part of the lawn of the homeowner.

9. The GOP and Teabaggers should be classified as a hate group
They are terrorists pure and simple, no different than any other terrorist group. Just as violent, just as much hate for America, and just as uneducated and inbred as all terrorist groups.

Vanderboegh is a member of an Alabama militia group who is headlining an open-carry gun rally in Northern Virginia next month. In an interview with Alan Colmes yesterday, Vanderboegh justified his call for vandalism and said the attacks are warning shots because people like him will next threaten the life of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and fight health reform with “a thousand little Waco’s”:
