Scott Brown - The Democrats will stop at nothing
Imagine, they voted and got a majority for their bill. Definitively unconstitutional and tyrannical.

Scott Brown: Democrats 'Will Stop At Nothing'
Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) released a statement about the Senate vote today: "My election in January deprived the Democrats of their 60th vote, and forced them to resort to a parliamentary maneuver known as reconciliation to ram this bill through Congress. While we all support improving our health care system, today's vote proves that majority party will stop at nothing to force their disastrous health care plan onto a nation that doesn't want it, can't afford it, and that is not good for my state."

6. "Ram this bill through Congress".
Notice the violence of the language.

We usually call this, counting the votes, don't we?

"Will stop at nothing, ram it through, force their plan"

If this isn't ginning up violence, I don't know what is.

bill through, they should have thought about it.....no American wants it....blah...blah...blah.....

My response....."We won"!! (I was trying to explain that the previous 8 years the Repugs rammed everything down our throats....) apparantly those 8 years didn't occur.....no bullying occurred, no threats of being unAmerican.....it was our imagnination.

48. somewhat related to your post...
occurred to me earlier today that the media (well CNN anyway), on how they describe Democrats when they raise their voices - the words 'lashed out' seem to be quite common.

When its Republicans being a loud mouthed, its called something else - like bold, forceful, bla bla.

16. Scott Brown has a vastly inflated opinion of himself and his role in the world
What, the Democrats outvoted the Republicans in spite of the fact that His Supreme Scottiness got elected. Stamp! Stamp!

'a nation that doesn't want it,'

Then why did they vote for a Democratic President and Congress?

'can't afford it'

I understand that the current system is MORE expensive than that in most countries, like mine, which have national health care.

Love this quote...

"While we all support improving our health care system, today's vote proves that majority party will stop at nothing to force their disastrous health care plan onto a nation that doesn't want it, can't afford it, and that is not good for my state."

I guess he's forgotten that his repub buddy mitt passed healthcare reform in MA. A bill very similar to what just passed nationally, so I guess if it isn't good for his state, he should have been campaigning on repealing the state law first.

What a dufus.

36. He needs to know that the Democratic Senators and Congressmen were
elected too and the vast majority ran on healthcare.

Even in MA, he needs to have someone explain to him that Senator Kerry spoke often of healthcare and he got 1,959,843 votes in 2008, 66% of all cast in the Senate race.

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/2008/election_results/ma_ussenate/

Brown was elected with 52% of the vote - in total, 1,168,107 votes. http://www.boston.com/news/special/politics/2010/senate/results.html So, if Brown's 1,168,107 votes were a mandate, what were Kerry's 1,959,843 votes?

Not to mention, it was TWO bills, the main one done following every rule in the book - over every ounce of obstruction the Republicans can muster. It had 60 votes. The second bill was a smaller bill than many the Republicans "rammed through", including the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts - which RAISED the deficit. This bill followed every rule.
