Rounding up the post-passage health-care reform polls

Nate Silver looks at the post-passage polling on health-care reform. The USA Today/Gallup poll that showed a sharp jump looks to have been an outlier. The emerging picture is that the bill got a bit more popular, Obama's handling of the bill is getting a bit more respect, and congressional Democrats look a bit better.

1. The tide is turning, but Dems need to keep playing offense

Keep pushing effective, popular legislation through Congress, and speak out. Keep the GOP on the defensive.

A big advantage is that the Democrats now have a very positive message including success passing healthcare reform, economy that is steadily recovering, etc.

All the Republicans have is negativity. Doom and gloom, hate-mongering, etc. That doesn't sell well with mainstream America, and is likely to drive independents away from the GOP in November.

5. If they even stood a chance of keeping up with OUR President, it wouldn't be nearly as funny.

I've noted for some time, if anything else, he's one HELL of a manager. He gets more done before breakfast than incurious George did in any single month - and they haven't got a single substantial fuck-up yet.

Three more years (and then, four) and they're going to wear themselves out with poutrage.
