Which states will gain after census?
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2010/03/26/which_states_will_gain_power_after_census.html

Some red states will gain, but hopefully California will gain 2-3 electoral votes, as CA's population only continues to grow...

1. Can we count Florida as a Dem state?
Since Obama won it the last go around?

2. California is expected to remain the same

"It has grabbed the lion's share of all the House districts awarded to the western U.S. over these last generations. But for the first time in its history it may not gain another seat this year, as a result of the sluggish growth and a drain of residents. (It appears to have lost fewer people toward the end of the decade, though, which may save it from an unprecedented loss of a seat.)"

According to the same article, California could even lose a seat.

Edit to clarify that the my subject was a response to the OP, and I musta hit a wrong button to get it here. Sorry.

I saw a list of the 25 cities in the US in terms of population growth. Texas seemed to have a few at the top of the list. California had more, but lower on the list. Florida, NY, Colorado, WA and OR were all represented.
