Will DC gun laws clash with 2nd Amendment rally 4/19?

From this article in today's WP

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/26/AR2010032604527.html

...there is a city ban on most semiautomatic pistols.

and this

The city requires that legally registered revolvers be kept unloaded and either disassembled or secured with trigger locks, unless the owner reasonably fears immediate harm by an intruder in the home.

Will these 2nd amendment protesters be coming unloaded and disassembled and with no semi-automatics? And what happens when they are challenged by police.

1. They must obey the law, or suffer the consequences.
Only the idiots among them will try something stupid.

The other two guys that show up smart enough not to break the law should be fine.

2. And if there are thousands of them, armed
Against the multi-racial DC cops? The demonstration is on a Monday so they are likely to be wondering around on Sunday.

3. They'll demonstrate, make a mess, and go home.
They won't be armed, unless they're completely crazy.

4. My understanding was that they would be armed
I thought that was the plan, but maybe I am wrong about that.

6. My Understanding
Is that they are to meet in Fort Hunt Park, Northern Virginia. This park is very close to DC. I didn't hear that there were any plans to take guns into DC. Doing that wouldn't be too bright. Look what happened to the Bullet's star Gilbert Arenas for bring unloaded guns into DC.

7. That's how I understand it too. The march isn't in D.C.

9. Is the park a federal enclave?

The DC laws on disassembly and semi-automatics were struck down... I dunno what the Virginia laws are.

8. The DC law is unconstitutional on its face.
It will be overturned sooner not later.

10. Will be? I think you mean "was".
The fight has moved on to areas outside of federal jurisdiction.

13. No, will be.
After the Heller decision threw out DC gun laws the city council enacted pretty much the same law in defiance of the Supreme Court. That case is now going through the courts.

14. Seriously? Wow.
I had no idea.

That's just...wow.

Well, I guess that's part of the different cases challenging state and city bans, outside of federal enclave bans.

11. Is anyone else concerned....
with the significance of this march being on 4/19. This is a very significant number and date for extremist groups and I can easily see a co-opt opportunity for violence.

Just a thought.
