President Obama, why are we not experiencing peace now? This is bullshit |
|
that we are still in two wars that should not still be under way. The criminals that started these illegal wars should be behind bars. So, WTF is going on?

3. Think realistic. Iraq is winding down. It's impossible to get all that equipment |
|
out of there in a week! They are moving as fast as they can to get out. Just last week Gates said we will be pulling out of Afghanistan beginning in July. Obama has changed the strategy and it's working much better now than the Shrub ideas. All of us would love to see a quick retreat, but things simply can't physically happen as fast as we would wish.
Be honest with yourself and think realistically.

We will be withdrawing very little of it. The constant dust storms in both Afghanistan and Iraq have ruined a lot of it. Most of the rest will be turned over to Afghan and Iraqi forces if we leave. But I don't believe for a minute we will leave either country.

|
What's the problem? The president been getting too much positive press lately? So you thought you'd stir the pot a little? We all know that Iraq is winding down, and he's staying in Afghanistan exactly as he promised he would. But nice try.

49. Time is running out on that line of thinking |
|
Indefintely keeping 100,000 troops on the ground to find 100 al Qaeda doesn't pass the common sense test. Especially when there's no way to verify when we've gotten all of them. If somehow we get bin Laden and al Zwahiri, and there are only 10 stragglers left, will he leave? What's his exit strategy? Has he announced one?
But if his goal is to do the best thing for him politically, then his course of action makes some sense.

Do you ever stop and think about all those being killed in those illegal and immoral wars or about the blood that is on Obama's hands because he is more worried about playing politics than saving lives?!
Or is all you think about and do is pat yourself on the back because your guy is in the White House? :eyes:
Obama is the one with the power to stop the genocide. And he does nothing.

it's just a matter of time til all the Americans are home. The combat is over, thankfully.
HOWEVER... that little shithole Afghanistnam is not over... by a long shot. It's consuming American soldiers daily and I can't think of one damn reason to have so mny boots on the ground there. Some special ops and Predators maybe... some support and training for the local army ok... but actual boots on the ground? Why?

Iraq is very much being wound down and the Afghanistan war has a timeline set for withdrawals starting in 2011. Obama didn't start these wars and it's not a video game where war just ends.
Looking back at history, Vietnam in 1970 was very unpopular and it still took almost five years for it to wind down.

When we keep pretending that securing Iraq is vital to our nation, we guarantee that "winding down" will take many years.
Withdrawal would be faster, but that's the strategy that dare not speak its name--not to mention that that would make further deaths even harder to excuse.

Obama has stated he will not withdraw quickly and helter skelter but want it to be done in a proper and responsible and safe way.
To me that shows some common sense; sure I'd prefer it if most of the USA's troops was back home with their families; but I disagree with those wanting a rushed withdrawal.
