Unfortunately, one cannot expect the pro-Palin crowd to be rational, or to be loose. Put such a bumper sticker on your car, and you may wake up one day to find it keyed. Or severely vandalized. Or sabotaged.

That which passes for political debate these days is so rancorous, so vituperative, so malignant that one wouldn't recommend tempting the right-wing zealots by presenting oneself as a target.

I'll tell you what they won't do: they won't be sensible. They won't be silent. They won't be mature. They won't get over it, because toddlers don't ever get over it until their tantrums subside.

Toddlers with guns.

Recall, they have the money. And recall, please, money is power. Money buys law. Money buys police. They have the money, almost all of it in the country. That's nothing to sneeze at.

So you put a bumper sticker on your car, your car gets damaged, you call the cops and they file a report and forget about you. What did you accomplish? Do you feel good? Wasn't that what it was about in the first place, feeling good?

So you basically call me a coward, insinuate I am intimidated. Not at all. But take ME on, don't mess with my car! If someone damages my car, now I can't work and can't provide for my family. I'll wear an Obama t-shirt, and discuss the truth as I see it with all comers. But I won't leave my car as a target, because I cannot constantly defend my car. And I'd have to!

Now, if it were an election year, a real election year as opposed to an off-election year, Americans would be better behaved. In 2004, there were some problems with folks with John Kerry stickers, but in 2008, I didn't hear about any untoward behavior toward cars with Obama or McCain stickers. Given that people like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are trying to start bloody revolution by riling up these toddlers with guns, I think a little circumspection is wise.

But you go ahead and call it being chicken. Whatever.

It just makes me ill that the undeducated uninformed folks getting the biggest middle class tax cut in history as we speak, could hold so much sway, considering that the whole movement was created by the powers that be. That's quite upsetting.

We will fight them in the media, and on the message boards; we will fight them with growing confidence and growing strength in the streets. We will defend our nation, whatever the cost may be. We will fight them on the blogs and by the water cooler.
