Obama Administration redeemed, Florida Republicans destroyed.
Whew. I have a lot to talk about tonight. Let me summarize.

1. The Obama Administration awarded Race to the Top federal funding to Delaware and Tennessee today, specifically citing the cooperation of all segments of the education community as a priority in reform efforts. They told all states that they must include teachers, parents, local school boards, and unions in the formation of their plans. They want a total "buy-in" by everyone involved.

2. Florida's union-hating Republican Senate refused to accept this criteria, and doubled down on the rhetoric instead of acknowledging the reality of the President's emphasis.

3. State Senator and Republican head honcho John Thrasher helped to drive tens of thousands of Republican teachers and parents away from the party by attacking the Florida Educators Association directly. Charlie Crist lied to the media about our outrage over Senate Bill 6 and caused three times more outrage to be delivered. Marco Rubio went on Fox News and threatened Social Security in a state full of retirees.

1. Unfortunately, Florida's been insane for a long time.
The therapy is going to be extensive and long-term.

2. Split up Florida
Those of us in the South Florida area are sick of the crazies in the North ruining our state.

3. lol...
I think there are several states that feel that way. The divisions may not be so clearly north and South, but they do exist.

4. Republican politicians don't understand
the politicians will do anything to take out Democrats and Obama at the expense of the general public. When it comes to their constituents who know better they are leaving the party in droves. These people are looking out for their children, themselves and their life, not the politicians who are controlled by corporations.

a poster upthread reminded us that the gops are acting out to bring down Pres Obama and they think cutting off everyone's head is the best way to go about that.
