any spill that results.
Using their own money, because like the Exxon Valdez, the taxpayers foot the bill.
Reimburse the coastal towns that lose tourism, and like the fisheries in Alaska that were wiped out, help those people relocate and get into new businesses.
Get ready to pay more at the pump when the oil gets shipped to Asia.
Get ready to pay more in taxes when the oil companies don't find anything and write that R&D on THEIR taxes.
Do i need to go on...I knwo you think this is a complicated issue, but it's not at all...it's not nuanced, it's not "thoughtful" it's wrong and stupid.

5. Now repeat that 100 times |
|
and then go read what Obama actually proposed, and tell me how long it takes you to figure out you're both saying the exact same thing.

7. If there isn't much oil there, the risk of a spill must be low |

9. Including medical supplies |
|
There are many uses for oil outside of gasoline. I think it's a little short sighted to pretend that the need for oil is going away any time soon. A great deal of medical supplies require oil in order to be produced.
The goal should be that by the time these oil rigs are up and running, that the only need left for them is for plastics and preferably only for critical needs.
Obama has put together a comprehensive bill and hopefully the renewable energy programs will catch on in a big way.

10. After you give up coal, oil and nuclear power and anything made or dependent on them.... |
|
the rest will have to clean up the spills - you won't be able to kayak that far without lights.

11. Being Americans, those of us against pay taxes and will play for the clean up anyway... |
|
I'm opposed to this policy. If there is a clean up necessary, my taxes will pay for it.
