Simon Johnson: Jamie Dimon ("Obama's favorite banker") - the most dangerous man in America
Edited on Sat Apr-03-10 01:06 PM by brentspeak

Jamie Dimon is by far the most dangerous American banker of this or any other recent generation.

snip

Dimon fully understands -- although he can't concede in public -- the private advantages (i.e., to him and his colleagues) of a big bank getting bigger. Being too big to fail - and having cheaper access to funding as a result -- may seem unfair, unreasonable, and dangerous to you and me. But to Jamie Dimon, it's a business model -- and he is only doing his job, which is to make money for his shareholders (and for himself and his colleagues).

Dimon represents the heavy political firepower and intellectual heft of the banking system. He runs some of the most effective -- and tough -- lobbyists on Capitol Hill. He has the very best relationships with Treasury and the White House. And he is determined to scale up.

snip

If we don't find our way to a modern version of Teddy Roosevelt, Jamie Dimon -- and his successors -- will lead us into great harm. It's true that, after another crash or in the midst of a Second Great Depression, we can reasonably hope to find another Roosevelt -- FDR -- approach. But why should we wait when such a disaster is completely preventable?

1. Jamie Dimon gives me the creeps.
I will say that over and over again, until he is no longer a player.
I left a message some time ago at the Obama message place detailing why I thought Dimon was bad.
I hope he got it.

9. He didn't change when I worked for JPMorgan Chase.
He seems to want world domination if that is a change.

11. I left when JPMorgan merged with Chase Manhattan when I saw how much of a smuck he is
after the merger he TRIED to rescind a lot of the buyouts given from Chase to those that wanted to leave. He took ALL your leave time to a total of 8 days this was supposedly sick & federal holidays, I had 5 weeks vacation he tried to change to 2 weeks. There are some still there that wished they left, he is always trying to screw the little people but mgrs can get STRESS days...WTH

13. You're right.
We worked on most holidays and I couldn't understand how we were the ONLY banks opened on those days. Not to mention we lost tons and tons of benefits and discounts. He's a jerk.

7. K & R. And thanks for posting this.
Dimon is a very close ally of this White House.

Which is a very bad thing for America.

8. `When I worked for Chase it was a well known fact that Jamie Dimon wants a monopoly.
All JPMorgan Chase does is eat up banks in new York...and it's nemesis is Citibank.

12. So what? I could say that Hillary is "Obama's favorite warmonger" who's the most dangerous DLCer...
Edited on Sat Apr-03-10 07:11 PM by ClarkUSA
... in America but even so, the President still didn't listen to her pro-Gen. McChrystal advice for a 10-year/80,000 troop surge in Afghanistan.
