Media spin: "4 in 10 in Tea Party Dems. or Independents"
Edited on Mon Apr-05-10 02:41 PM by jenmito
The poll (by the Windston Group) says 13% of teabaggers are Dems. and 28% are Independents. How lazy and convenient of them to lump them into one group. :eyes:

Source: "In three national surveys, done for New Models from December 2009 through February 2010, 57% of Tea Party members called themselves Republicans, another 28% said they were Independents, and 13% were Democrats. Two-thirds of Tea Party members identify as conservatives but 26% say they are moderate and 8% described themselves as liberal."

1. That 8% are most likely not liberal at all.
Sorry. No liberal in their goddamn right mind would join these people.

Most likely saying that they are...

10. Sometimes I don't know if they scare me more than Neocons.
It's like a fight between those living with perpetual war ala 1984 and those who want no government at all...ala Somalia.

21. Bingo!
I think that most of those independents are self-annointed Ayn Rand worshippers looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

35. Or people that are just simply "registered Dem"
I know a teabagger who proudly told me he is a registered Democrat. He espouses nothing in the Democratic platform, probably hasn't voted for a Dem in a general election - ever. I asked him why he was registered as a Dem - he told me b/c he grew up in a Union household. He is a Fox news watching ditto head. His dad is retired UAW- so he probably registered/voted in a Dem primary when he was eligible to vote. I doubt he's even voted in a Dem primary in the last 25 years... But he claims to be a registered Dem like it is a badge of honor....

11. This is the Media doing what they do best. Supporting the RW
Line in order to put the Republicans in office.

Some Conservative Democrats could be drawn in.

More important than any of this spin, I am wondering what
Surburbanites and Country Club Republicans are thinking
about the face of the Republican Party.

12. No way a single REAL Liberal would be part of this -- makes no logical sense..
One thing i see about liberals is that they think...dont react through emotion...so i strongly doubt any of them are liberals.

14. Not buying it...
been on a site where t/b's post...as a Democrat and I haven't seen myself as agreeing with them on any issue...but...then...there were those I didn't agree with during and after the last election, who posted here...SOOOO...I guess there could be some who call themselves Democrats involved with t/b's..and we all know how for some reason...that the lousy 13%...is perceived as even more important by some, than the other 85% who identified as Rep/Independents...Too bad that 13% don't realize how much power they have, and use it to do some good....Even more important is that the whole 100%, no matter how the numbers shake out, are extremists who shouldn't be ignored...wb

clear that only 13% were Dems. They lumped Dems. with the larger number of Independents (which are most likely disaffected Repubs. by the way) which wasn't really honest.

These are conservative Dems who haven't voted for a Democrat for President In Years.Zeil Miller types who are not real Democrats.

Anyone calling themselves a Liberal yet associate with a proPalin, and racist group Is not a Liberal. The signs they use show what
their racist Ignorent mindset really Is.And they were mainly Mccain voters.

really is a closet repug. but is embarrassed to admit it. We shoot down all her talking points and she just gets mad says "don't believe everything you read on the internet", yet she has the television on just about 24/7.

34. Oh yes, she's very pro-union, pro blue collar worker (I think this is because her
late husband was a union official) she says she's for the little guy but she says one thing one day and then the complete opposite the next. I have pretty much given up on talking politics with her because she is so wishy washy about most things. I think she is a true example of a sheeple, she'll follow anyone she thinks makes a good argument and changes her mind like most people change their underwear.

They're registered "Independents" the way I'm a registered Independent--just so I don't get shanghaied by MA's ballot laws on voting day.

If any of those so-called "Independents" have ever, EVER voted anything but straight Republican in their entire lives I will eat my hat.
