Arizona: Walden Won't Run for Senate
Attorney and businesswoman Nan Stockholm Walden (D) won't run for Senate in Arizona, leaving the Democratic field open for young Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman (D) to try and challenge either Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) or former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.).

After exploring the race over the past several weeks, Walden issued a statement Monday evening announcing she would not run due to personal obligations. The Arizona Capital Times has more from Walden's statement.

The Arizona Senate race is not high on national Democrats' list of priorities, but the party began to pay closer attention as a nasty GOP primary between McCain and Hayworth got underway. Walden had met with Democrats in Washington, D.C. and Arizona to discuss the race, and there was hope that with her personal money, networks, and public and private sector experience, she could give a wounded Republican nominee a run for their money in the fall.

3. Huff Post just put this piece up
Rodney Glassman: McCain (or Hayworth) Gets First Serious Democratic Challenger

He's being ignored by DSCC, but Howard Dean likes him.

"Glassman has political appeal that has drawn attention and support in far-reaching circles. Former DNC Chair Howard Dean told the Huffington Post back in February that he was on his radar, mainly because Glassman had restricted donations to his exploratory committee to a scant $20.

"People should pay attention to him in this atmosphere," Dean said. "If someone is going to run and limit contributions to $20 now and they can catch on even with Tea Party crowd, which is big in Arizona."

I started a thread in the Arizona forum. He's about to declare his run for US Senate.

4. Glassman seems like a great candidate.
He's charismatic, a Washington outsider, and he even sings Sinatra and other standards with community bands in Arizona (evidence on Youtube).
