2. Nope. Leming is in the marines and can't campaign until his active duty ends.
Marine captain to run for Congress in Tenn.

By Erik Schelzig - The Associated Press
Posted : Tuesday Mar 30, 2010 15:56:15 EDT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Marine Capt. Ben Leming of Murfreesboro has filed a petition to run as a Democrat for the congressional seat being vacated by Rep. Bart Gordon.

Adviser Jeff Clark told the Associated Press on Monday that Leming, 34, got permission from the secretary of the Navy to file his candidacy, but can’t actively campaign until his active duty ends May 1.

Gordon, a Democrat, is retiring after 13 terms in the seat that represents 15 counties ranging east from Nashville’s fast-growing suburbs to the Cumberland Plateau.

State Democrats had feared they wouldn’t find a viable candidate for the seat once held by former Vice President Al Gore.

3. Boy were we afraid...
We had several candidates pick up papers to run but only one turned his in...and you would not believe this guy he voted Republican all his life and attended teabagger events in DC. He tried to slip his web site addy on to the TDP web page, I would never have noticed except he mentioned in a comment he was a candidate for the 6th Congressional Dist. and slipped in his addy. I called the HQ's, and flat told them they best get it off right now or else...I know they didn't approve it nor did they even know it was there...and they did remove it very quickly.

Ben's mother will be attending our next county party meeting. She and his wife are campaigning for him till he is released by the Military He looks and sounds like a keeper but I'm still going to ask him how he would have voted on Health care.
