President Sarah Palin? - could you imagine the saber-rattlings, military invasions, economic and

environmental havoc this woman would unleash on this planet if she were the president?

Just reading her ignorant comments from her speech make me angry. President Obama isn't perfect, but my GOD in heaven, did this country dodge a big one when Obama/Biden was announced the president&VP-elect at 11pm EST on election day instead of McCain/Palin!

Since she's loved by about half of the GOP, and that half that loves her is on fire for her, do you think it's possible that near majority of GOPers could possibly get her the nomination? I realize half of GOPers think she's very unqualified, but if she gets a solid voting block of wingnuts - she's their girl!

What a comical election cycle that would kick off in about 18 months. Vote you Palin lovin' crazy bitches and bastards! HA!

I'd say Obama would win with the biggest landslide in history with all those Palinites screaming that they're the majority (because that's the only type of person they ever hang around with - other Palinites).

Obama's brush off of her comment about nuclear arsenal was rather perfect.
He's too nice to say, "I think her only expertise is the ability to overact".

3. Sarah Palin as President would make George Bush look like Eisenhower.
And if I were forced to pick between the 2, I think I'd be campaigning for W's 3rd term.

Yes, its really THAT bad.

4. I would too. She honest to goodness makes W (2nd term W that is) look good, because she's such a
hysterical overboard wingnut.

9. There's no question Palin is worse than Bush
Which makes me scared considering we all thought there couldn't possibly be anyone worse than Bush.

What comes after Palin?

5. A Palin Presidency Would Be A Presidency By Her VP, Chief of Staff, and Other Aides
IOW, she would just be a figure head through and through. ALL of her policies would be run by those in her administration. More than likely, it would be a playground for the neocons. The entire Project for a New American Century would simply move their offices into the White House.

In short order, we would invade Iran and later Syria. We would post U.S. advisors and other military in Georgia. Blackwater and Haliburton would get even bigger contracts and have an even bigger role. We would use torture on a regular basis.

As for domestic issues, DEREGULATION and enormous tax cuts for the wealthy would continue unbated, and because of the tax cuts and the bloated defense spending the budget deficits would explode exponentially which would guarantee that Medicare and Social Security would be privitized by Wall Street, who would loot that money

Meanwhile, the press would be too concerned with her outfits and her "folksy" manner.

6. FRIGHTENING....
very true, thank you for giving a glimpse...

the poor would be ignored, and any marches to organize a voice against her actions would be attacked by Palin-lusters who worshiped her every decision. They'd do like that guy who wadded up dollar bills and threw them at the Parkinson's guy, and throw tomatoes, rocks and threaten violence against the poor masses. Palin is truly a threat to civility, you see it in her language. I wish she would just go away - what a horrible situation to have to see her publicized on the tv constantly. Maybe after 2012, she will mostly go away as she ages and loses what cutesy looks she possesses.

7. I actually wonder if the saner parts of the Republican media pushing her have an ulterior motive
I just watched CNN go through the Palin/Obama attacks - which are really the Palin attacks and an Obama dismissal. Now, Palin's first attack was to characterize Obama as a child on the play ground - and one asking to be hit. Obama essentially refused to get into it. The media though takes his response and when Palin again attacked referred to him learning about nuclear issues as a community organizer - calls it essentially tit for tat. (and they didn't say that as Senator, Obama worked with Lugar, the man with the best credentials in the Senate on this and they passed a bill - or that he is the PRESIDENT. )

It actually wasn't - Palin made two extremely rude comments about the President and the media let her get away with it. Imagine if any of the 2004 Democrats had said anything as insulting as today's comment of Bush. I think we would still be hearing about it.

Now, there are two possibilities about today's comment. Palin, by acting like Obama's opponent gains status if she is she as Obama's opponent. This happens with anyone once they become the nominee, but in a twist, here instead of pulling the opponent up - she is bizarrely trying to pull him down - so the competition is what both did before becoming President.

It could be a bizarre plan by a strange woman. Or, it could be Palin, enjoying the spotlight, knowing her negatives are too high and unlikely to change, trying to muddy the President and make him look less Presidential.

If either is the case, the President's reaction was perfect. The question is whether other Democrats, especially the ones who were NOT outspoken in the Bush years, should be questioning Palin's behavior.
