Believe it or not, I actually DON'T think the GOP will filibuster Obama's nominee.

Palin, in a speech yesterday (saw a clip on TV) said the republicans were the party of NO and the crowd went nuts cheering her. No way those senators are going to go along with any supreme court nominee with her leading the way.

I spoke to David on the phone Weds nite and he told me that it might snow there that night!!!!
We got pretty chilly today...frost warnings in the northern suburbs, but we are stayiing in the low 50s here.

12. I think we could expect Maine's two Senators to be inclined toward

female nominees to the high court. Their constituents like strong women enough to send two to Washington in the upper chamber and I would expect they would be under some public pressure to vote to confirm. Maybe not, but they would have to answer to their constituents' wishes that a female nominee be confirmed.

Voinovich of Ohio is a possibility as well.

A Kagan nomination might be more politically inviting to a handful of Republican Senators than a Wood nomination, for example.

the court right now -- it's such a boys club. Agree also that the president did a lot of good with Sotomayor. I liked her anyway and even politically, she just seems close to a perfect pick.

I'd love to have transcripts from the White House of the meetings held on the next nominee. I bet they'd be lively.

stand up to her party and tell them they need to grow up.

I hoped for much more for her in key issues this past couple of years and it just never was there.
