Time to get the heads out of the sand.. and attend those teapartys.. |
|
Because there is a WHOLE lot of lying going on, that is not getting reported.
This week the Bachmann was in northwest Iowa, specifically Sioux City at a Steve King/teaparty/God knows what gathering of the rabid right.
Get this, Bachmann tells the crowd that the United States under the auspices of the current President.. President Obama, that the country has moved from a Creditor nation to a Debtor Nation.
Yep you read that right. That was what happened under Reagan. But they are now spreading that manure that his has just happened under the Obama watch.
Add to that, they are spreading that the average taxpayers' taxes are going through the roof.. when it is just the opposite. 90% of us got a tax cut under the Feds. Now taxes on a local level city, state are rising no doubt..but they are using that as Obamas fault.
I am attending the next local tea party and when that stuff comes up, I am confronting the speaker on it to clarify.

1. I attended one last year. |
|
Started off with a child singing the National Anthem who DID NOT know the words and quit about half way through. I am crapping you negative. Lots of older people on scooters who resented the Gubmint getting its filthy hands on their SS/Medicare. I tried chatting up a few of the attendees( I'm a relatively calm, non threatening, friendly type) but once they realized I was not "one of them" they became wary and clammed up. A former State Senator/ US Rep wannabe was present but he was quickly ushered in and out allowing no real contact. Funny thing was he was introduced as a US Congressman and he had to correct the emcee.
I'm thinking about attending the rally this Thursday because a U.S. Senate candidate will be present and I am interested in hearing what this little fascist will be spouting.

I wish you the best of luck. These people are incapable of rational thought. It becomes mob mentality. I was holding a sign that said "People of Faith for health care reform" for that I was approached by a kid at LEAST 15 years younger than me and called a 'Fat communist Pig'
I hope that you can confront the speaker, it is worth it for that.
I tried to ask another why he wasn't angry about the Debt these wars have wrought upon us, the person deflected and told me that that wasn't the point, when pushed (verbally) he completely pulled a red herring and said that Obama is a socialist. They just don;t want truth -- they want to believe their own version of reality. What seriously concerns me is that the media is allowing them to be framed as legit.
In another time -- OR if it were another party making such statements the media would be all over such a lie as the one you posted above. People like Bachmann are capitalizing on the hate.
