We need to have Democrats talk like the kid in Frazz |
|
I couldn't get today's embedded because all the links are dead for some reason. Anyway here is what today's is all about.
Mrs. Olsen is passing out test papers saying "... so be forewarned..."
Caulfield starts out... "Isn't 'forewarned' a tautology?"
"A repetitive redundancy?"
"Aren't all warnings in advance by definition?"
"Then again, if it's a matter of superfluous definition and not wanton duplication, maybe that makes it a pleonasm."
"Or is it neither, since it's a single word and not a discrete pair with a salient and gratuitous modifier?
As Caulfield is walking into the Detention Room he says to Frazz "For stalling. I hate vocabulary tests."

And I love Caulfield.
I read of some survey, looking for answers on some other subject, that found that Democrats are, on average, more intelligent than Republicans. Ergo, Caulfield is, without question, a Democrat.
