Man arrested in threats to Brown-Waite

Federal authorities on Sunday arrested a Florida man on charges he allegedly threatened Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Fla.) by telephone.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation Monday announced that it arrested Erik Lawrence Pidrman, 66, in Spring Hill, Fla. He is slated to appear in federal court in Tampa Monday.

This is just the latest in the slew of federal charges brought upon citizens who have allegedly threatened office holders. A man in Philadelphia was arrested for allegedly threatening House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.), a California man was arrested for allegedly harassing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and in Washington State, a man was arrested for allegedly threatening Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).
