Armed man arrested at NC airport as Obama departs

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100426/ap_on_re_us/us_obama_nc_airport_arrest

"McVey's car had strobe lights like a police car might, but the suspect is not in law enforcement, said Smith.

The investigation into what McVey was doing with a gun and why his car was equipped with strobe lights is continuing, Smith said. Local police were in charge of the investigation. The Secret Service had no comment on the arrest, deferring to airport police."

4. The local newspaper has more details, so go there.

This guy came to NC to scout out an attack plan. 'here to meet the president' my ass.
Radios set to police frequencies- check
Sniper scope settings on a note in the car- check
Pistol in an unusual area- check
Police style strobe lights AND a siren- check
Out of state with a wrong license plate- check

Sounds like this guy's trying to pose as a plainclothes cop to get close to the president and figure out a plan of attack. Sometimes A+B+C+D+E really does equal trouble.

Now watch- in a few days, we'll find out he's a militia member or some dumb shit like that.

8. Thanks.. does not sound too brilliant..
"The car’s Ohio plates and other equipment including a digital camera on the dashboard and four large antennas on the trunk lid caught an airport police officer’s attention, according to the case summary.

McVey got out of the car and started talking on a handheld radio attached to a remote earpiece and the officer noticed he was wearing a sidearm.

The officer and Secret Service agents asked for McVey’s identification and when they ran his driver’s license number through a computer it did not come back as valid, according to the case summary."

7. more info in today's article ...
Note ... buried deep into the article is the fact that he's tied in with Republicans; putting a human face on him before (quietly) mentioning political affiliations ...

http://www.citizen-times.com/article/20100426/NEWS01/100426001

In 2007, McVey posted a blog on his Myspace profile that said he got a job working “as IntelliTarget Marketing. (Verifying addresses on magazine subscriptions and, soon, political ‘advertising’ for the One Million Republicans, a new Republican group postered by former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay).”
