Looking at the upsurge in Non Traditional students at our community college is a big sign
that we are headed in the right direction. They are spilling out the doors trying to get their skills upgraded for a new job market.

I have been working with a number of the families, and they are not letting the grass grow under their feet.

Some of the jobs they used to have, will never be here again. The company has literally moved away. So they are taking advantage of school loans, and credits from the government to move into a different arena, such as working with green technologies, nursing, medical needs etc.. software and the list just goes on.

The President made some moves when he first came into office with tax breaks, and unemployment extensions that has opened doors for the future for a number of these families.

Even manufacturing has moved to a place where higher skills are needed than just walking off the street.

But one of the biggest pieces of sunshine I have seen, is the number of students who always wanted to have their own businesses, now taking classes in how to run that buisness. They are getting the skills to be as successful as they can possibly be. New small buisness have high failure rates. They are willing to take the chance, but be as knowledgeable as possible, to try and avoid some of those pitfalls.
