Dont like the economy? Get ready to work your ass off |
|
If you are upset about the economic conditions, your job, the housing market, or your finances, you better get ready to work your ass off. Simple fact is that our current economic rune is a direct result of the Bush administrations handling of the Fed chairman appointment and the Fannie/Freddie ramp up of MSBs. Yes, financial regulation is at play and yes there are other factors as well but let me tell you without a doubt that no matter what you think of the current administration and policy, the republicans will screw you over twice as hard and twice as much.
As far as im concerned, if you are in a pickle now and you didn't work your ass off to get Gore or Kerry elected, you have only yourself to blame. We lost those elections by mere fractions. Now the negative nellies are talking trash about Obama and the democrats on this vary board while complaining all the while that they are in dire economic straights.
If you let the next election slip to a republican, you will get every drop of what you deserve and not an ounce of sympathy from those of us who bang the boards. At some point, you have to push away from the keyboard and do something more than type or talk.

and educate yourself concerning the facts surrounding the stolen elections in 2000,2002 and 2004. The only reason the margins were 'razor thin' was because of massive election fraud, voter disenfranchisement and intimidation.

19. if your refering to the diebold software changes |
|
and the self copying systems, i am aware of what happened. But i am also aware that those change cannot have spread throughout all systems in the time given. In effect, with hacked software, they can effect only a small percentage of the votes. That effect could grow with time.
Letting that bog us down is not going to help.

33. Face to face contact works |
|
My county is way lopsided Republican but in 08 the huge amount of legwork and personal contacts tipped the vote to Sen. Harkin. Obama was close but didn't carry the county. This is Rep. Steve Kings district and very hard for any Dems. to win. Every weekend for months people were in parades, having house parties, phone banking, walking door to door. This election cycle is every bit as important as '08. If you meet someone who wants to defend the republican talking point, they are lost don't waste your time and energy, the voter next door may be undecided.

progressive values? That legislation benefits the large corporations over the interests of the average American.
So instead, we'll "slouch" toward fascism with the democrats as compared to "sprinting" toward fascism under the GOP?
That's hardly an attractive choice, is it?
How about we force our democrats to HAVE A SPINE or primary them out?

That's the "velvet glove" = democratic administrations will care for the abject poor in addition to the super-rich. The rest are mostly "scraps" while they push ever increasing numbers of Americans into poverty. Good news, our health care will be almost free after we declare bankruptcy.
The legislations that you have listed are not of significant assistance to the Middle Class which is shrinking out of existence.

|
It also means that the government still owns part of GM until it goes for an IPO, at which point we will see what the final verdict is. GM repaying TARP money with TARP money is not some evil, crooked, bad thing.

This sentiment is a by product of having a service based economy. We've gotten so use to having our complaints addressed by customer service that we think that's the way to rectify wrongs.
When we were a mfg based economy and made things, it was easier to organize people and get them involved in politics because we were a nation of doers.
