Whoohoo!!! "NEW KCCI POLL: Grassley Faces Strong Challenge From Conlin"
Guess what Chuck? Iowa may be about to PULL THE PLUG on your SENATE CAREER!

NEW KCCI POLL: Grassley Faces Strong Challenge From Conlin

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A new KCCI poll released on Thursday shows the race for Sen. Charles Grassley's seat appears to be heating up even before the Democratic primary.

Grassley is still leading the race with 49 percent, but Roxanne Conlin appears to be closing in with 40 percent.

"In no re-election race has Grassley had less than 65 percent of the vote, so his races are always walks in the park," said Dennis Goldford, KCCI political analyst.

Iowa State University political science professor Steffen Schmidt said the debate over health care reform may have had an impact on those poll numbers.

"His campaign has taken a toll to some extent," he said. "He should be much stronger for someone with as much money and visibility."

KCCI talked to both the Grassley and Conlin campaigns on Thursday about the new poll.

"It is amazing to be this close at this time and certainly seems to me to say that people are looking for something different, something new," said Roxanne Conlin, candidate for Senate.

1. Conlin....that name sounds very familiar.
She's run against him before, hasn't she?

6. Conlin ran for governor
in the early '80s against Terry Braindead. I first registered as a Democrat that year to support Roxanne.

3. I'd like to see Conlin win that Senate seat and I've love to have seen
the last of Grassley.

He's a clueless yahoo from word go.

Go, Roxanne!

5. She's got my vote.
Grassley has been an embarrassment to Iowa and it's time to pull the plug on his senate position.
