Republicans are confident of retaking the House of Representatives

Cantor said he is more confident than ever this gives Republicans an authentic chance of netting the 40 seats they need, especially after reviewing data provided by five GOP pollsters during the leadership retreat.

“It is in the mind-set of the public right now: Washington’s out of control,” Cantor said. “They do not have the economic security in their life yet. The 10 months’ time is not enough for people to regain their sense of security, no matter where this unemployment rate goes.”

Little Eric is on his knees with other GOPers that the jobs numbers stop going up so that they can divert the public from the fact that they created the problem in the first place.

3. But will those chickens come home to roost?
Will they hit the GOP after they've turned rotten?

Or will they all be traded for medical care?

Film at month 11.

4. He could be right
It takes a while for an improving economy to translate into improved approval ratings.

George H.W. Bush lost re-election even though the recession was over by the time the election happened.

That's why I've been stressing that Obama and the Dems need to start taking more credit.

6. He could be right that its not enough time

But and here is where he repeats the classical Republican error, their hubris will make them even less likely to make it happen.

Now add a couple of unexpected developments like let's say a large corporation screws up and wipes out coastal businesses in three states carrying out the Republican mantra 'drill baby drill' or lets say that one of the Republicans leading experts on the disadvantages of gay only parenting is found to go to Rentboy.com to hire a prostitute, these types of things could happen.

In the hubris goes before the fall.

That article was from January. I think the economy is going to be in much better shape than they thought possible way back in January.

8. Boehner said month that the Republicans could turn 100 seats
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0410/36605.html

How many seats are in play for the Republican Party to pick up in November?

John Boehner says at least 100. You read that right: 100 seats — or 23 percent of the entire House — could be gobbled up by Republicans on Boehner’s dream election day scenario.

The House minority leader, speaking on National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” on Friday, said that the “playing field” for the 2010 elections is wider than “anything we’ve seen around here during my 20 years."

“At least 100 seats,” Boehner told NPR’s Steve Inskeep, when asked how many House districts are up for grabs. “You think there are 100 seats in the United States that could change hands?” Inskeep asked.
