Obama: Health Care Reform Already Working

U.S. President Barack Obama says March's health-care reform bill already is improving millions of Americans' lives.

In his weekly address Saturday, Mr. Obama touted the first benefits of Democrat-backed legislation that narrowly passed through Congress earlier this year.

Mr. Obama says the entire health-insurance industry has agreed to stop canceling the coverage of people when they get sick, ahead of a September deadline requiring insurers to do so.

Mr. Obama also says a new federal office, the Office of Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, will help states stop insurance companies from "gaming" (exploiting) the health-care system. He says his administration has prevented one company, Anthem Blue Cross, from raising health insurance rates by 39 percent in the western state of California.

As of April 1st I cannot afford to see a doctor because our 'insurance' changed. Now we have to pay a $6k yearly deductible, after which they will only pay preventative care and zero prescription coverage. I was due to begin interferon treatments this coming September, but now we cant afford it. I have had serious gastric issues since returning from Panama a month ago, but I cannot afford treatment, because of the number of tests needed to diagnose the problem will cost me over $10k - they are not considered preventative so I have to bite the entire bullet. I am contemplating going to Costa Rica for treatment which would cost me about $1000.

I cannot believe that we are actually paying premiums for this. Obama's insurance reform does nothing for me and millions of others who are being gouged/ripped off by their insurers. If they cannot legally deny you because of pre-existing conditions they will instead deny you by gouging you out of existence.

Just die quickly.

God knows there are way too many fools in the world. I see evidence of that everyday. But thanks for ignoring them and doing what's good for the American People in spite of all the backbiting from your foes.
