FL-Gov: Watch Out For Rick Scott
Mason-Dixon (5/3-5, likely voters, 3/23-25 in parens):

Bill McCollum (R): 38 (64)
Rick Scott (R): 24 (n/a)
Paula Dockery (R): 7 (9)
Undecided: 31 (26)
(MoE: ?)

Alex Sink (D): 36 (34)
Bill McCollum (R): 45 (49)

Alex Sink (D): 38
Rick Scott (R): 36
(MoE: ±4%)

For a long, long time, Bill McCollum looked like he had the Republican nomination for Governor in the bag. That's all changed with the candidacy of Rick Scott, professional anti-healthcare astroturfer and former health insurance executive, who has already spent $5 million out of his own pocket on the race, blanketing airwaves across Florida with introductory ads over the past several weeks. If McCollum hoped he could ignore Scott, that looks to be an unwise course of action, given that his cozy 55-point lead on underfunded state Sen. Paula Dockery has evaporated into a 14-point lead over Scott.

Scott has some pretty glaring weaknesses that are exploitable, either in a primary or a general election -- namely, his former company, HCA/Columbia, paid a $1.7 billion settlement after being accused of over-billing the federal government under his leadership. In any event, I hope these two bozos start clobbering each other soon.

1. I never heard of Rick Scott until he decided to run for Governor..
Edited on Sun May-09-10 06:36 PM by lib2DaBone
He is on TV 24/7... you can't escape his grips. His spiel.. his advertising hook.. is that he is an "uber Conservative"... fighting for smaller govenment. This TV Campaign has to be costing him a fortune in media fees. And of course the majority of Christian , Brain-Dead half-wit voters in Florida just LOVE to suck Republican Ass...so they love Rick Scott.

His downfall.. is that he looks like a bald Ernst Angley.. and , besides that, his claim to fame is that he is "Not As Bad" as Jeb Bush and Dick Cheney. WOW.. how can you compete with an endorsement like that?

The Republican Party will stoop to no low.. to no dirty trick.. to no smarmy tactic.. nothing is beneath them... as they will do whatever it takes to keep the Banksters and War Party in power while BP destroys our food.. our jobs and our lives.

"Hi.. I'm Rick Scott. I am for smaller Government, Apple Pie and Mom. I am a Republican. You can trust me.. I am different than all the rest. "Heal.. almighty Jeebus"

3. From all that I've read, he's like the Karl Rove of Health Care.

2. Here's some good info on Rick Scott
Read this guy's blog, there are quite a few links to his nefarious past: http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/403455/abel-harding/2010-04-13/rick-scott-launches-gubernatorial-bid

The only thing you need to know about Scott is that he's another fucking snake in the grass. He IS in politics, just on the lobbying side of things (anti-health care reform). He is someone who has NO morals whatsoever and will do anything to get what he wants. If he gets into trouble he always finds a golden parachute.
