Tonight, plans to have them in and out of Afghanistan by 2011 will be announced. Pretty fast turnaround in Afghanistan, but Iraq is slower? Could be the logistics in Iraq involve more hardware.

9. Both.
Back in April or so we were told that we'll be out of Iraq by 2011. And we start removing troops from Afghanistan in Jul 2011.

6. They always had more troops and equipment in Iraq, remember?
Afghanistan was the open ended war on terror that was neglected and forgotten.
So afghanistan may be more dangerous, but less hardware to move out.

12. The SOFA says everybody out by Dec. 31, 2011
How we get to that point still leaves some flexibility for the US.

13. The promise du jour is that Iraq troop levels will be reduced to 50K by August 31, 2010
Apparently we're looking at a another new, and of course later, date for meaningful troop reduction in Iraq. Can't help it. Conditions on the ground, don'tcha know? Besides they said maybe. Keeping promises, that's for sissies. This is necessary, so we can achieve glorious Victory.
