Why he is not giving this from the Oval.....
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 07:40 PM by Clio the Leo
... there has been speculation as to why he was not giving this from the Oval Office. I chalked it up as to him just being the type who'd rather give a speech from out and around the country than from the White House.

But then the CNN camera cut to the audience and now I understand.

This is what he will see when he gives the speech....

.... he'll be looking into an ocean of cadets .... aside from a small VIP section, the house is full of young would-be military men and women.

No one can tell me he is not considering the cost of his decision.

14. When you are right you are right!!
I am sure the right wing will find fault with him giving it there. Then again they would find fault with him giving at the WH - they would then claim he is avoiding the troops.....he can't win.

out gummi bears.

19. He was not elected to escalate in Afghanistan or pass out gummi bears.
Obama was elected to get us out of Iraq.

Obama's platform to escalate in Afganistan was never popular among Democrats or Americans.

That is why so many us are are angry.

So many were busy with pink ponies and singing kum ba ya.

31. You don't get it. McCain was stay in Iraq. Obama was get out of Iraq.
Obama was elected because the most popular position among Democrats and Americans was get out of Iraq.
It was the predominant issue over all other issues.

Democrats and Americans did not favor during or post-election Obama's Afghanistan positon.

Duh! Are you alway such a slow learner?

The majority of Americans will stand by this surge in troops in Afghanistan.

23. Why?
Was it wrong when bush used the troops like this? I seem to remember in my lurking a lot of teeth gnashing every time he did so. It's wrong when anyone uses the troops like this, who cares what letter comes after their name.
