I really wish we would have the balls to try a "Roberts" type person like Bush did!!!

I hated Bush but he had the dedication to his cause to push it when he thought it helped his agenda!!!

1. It amazes me that some "liberals" admire the Bush way
look at where we are now after 8 years of the Bush-Cheney-Rove method of leadership.

6. and now his party and him are a laughing stock
and they ruined the economy, placed us in 2 wars, exploded our debt, doled out cash to the rich etc.

But lets emulate Bush for short term political gain.

7. Do you mean short-term political gains like supporting workers instead of corporations, supporting

environmental protection instead of defending the polluters, protecting civil liberties instead of destroying them, etc.?

These kinds of "political" gains I can live with, no matter how they are achieved.

9. False equivalence : all users of partisan tactics don't have the same goals
We had Better do the opposite of what Bush did except when it comes to accountability, or ending the gravy train to the M.I.C.

2. Dedication? Bush was never in charge. He did what others told him to do.
Bush was along for the ride.

5. Now, you want an Alito type person
Roberts is more like Sotamayor. He flew under the radar.

8. This person will not rule anything.
She would be one vote among nine. If you don't understand how "consensus building" on the court matters, I encourage you to seek out a book called "The Brethren" by Woodward. Politics at play on the Supreme Cout, behind closed doors? F'yeah!

10. Aren't most Supreme Court decsions binary? If it comes to an
up or down vote on any issue, it really doesn't matter how liberal she is as long as she votes the right way. It's better to have someone who votes the right way and can get others to vote with her than to get a get speechmaker who always loses.
