Media line "She has no judicial experience." LOL |
|
I remember when Bush nominated Harriet Meirs, she had a light resume, and NO judicial experience. I do not remember them mentioning this as many times with her as they have already mentioned it this morning.
Of course making this an issue is nice bait for the misinformed. You watch, Rush, Hannity, and the rest will be screaming "No judicial experience" in unison.
Orrin Hatch said before Meirs was picked that he would like to see a qualified "non judge" on the court.
Some of the most influental justices in our history have had no prior judicial experience. The last Chief Justice, Renquist, had no judicial experience.Neither did Thurgood Marshall, or Earl Warren.
Clarence Thomas was only a judge for 18 months when he was picked by Bush. He had written TWO opinions in those 18 months.
While I am not a big Kagen fan, the right wing opposition always amuses me. They are such hypocrites.

1. Solicitor General is a common stepping stone to the USSC |
|
I would argue that there is no better job preparation than that.

6. Funny how the reich wing never brought that up when Chimp nominated Opie Roberts. |
|
Yeah... he had been a judge for maybe two years. And even that was Chimpy rewarding him for his part in the Florida Fraud of 2000.
AP right wing ass radio news update is leading with this talking point, naturally. (I keep telling my "progressive" radio station to dump this shitty "news" service, but they refuse to do so, despite AP's obvious bias)
