Arkansas Senate candidate Bill Halter files complaint over outside groups ads

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Democratic Senate hopeful Bill Halter has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission over an outside group's advertisement that uses Indian-American actors to raise claims that Halter outsourced jobs.

Halter's campaign on Friday filed the complaint with the FEC against Americans for Job Security, which began airing the spots in Arkansas this week. Halter is challenging Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln in the May 18 primary.

Halter accuses the group of violating federal campaign laws by spending more than $900,000 on the ads without disclosing its donors.

Halter and Lincoln have both condemned the ad as offensive. Stephen DeMaura, the group's president, defended the group's actions and called Halter's complaint a fundraising ploy.
