Keep the Reform Bill Strong

Wall Street is working day and night to weaken financial reform legislation. They've got a few favorite suggestions that they're peddling hard in the Senate, aiming to weaken the agency which will oversee consumer financial products like mortgages, credit cards, payday loans and bank accounts.

Contact your Senators today and make sure Wall Street doesn't win!

Dear Senator,

I’m writing to ask you to make sure the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in S.3217 has all the tools it needs to protect me from abuses in all kinds of loans.

• There Should Be No Special Interest Carve Out for Auto Dealers who Originate or Broker Loans – They Must Fall Within the Jurisdiction of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Like Other Lenders & Creditors.

• There shouldn’t be carve-outs for any other lenders either, such as payday lenders.

• States should be allowed to add additional protections for consumers in their states. Federal regulations should provide a “floor, not a ceiling.”

Please make sure the bill reins in big Wall Street banks and holds them accountable, brings the shadow markets into the light, ends “too big to fail,” and ends taxpayer bailouts.
