The Title Tells All: .... Jeep Wasn’t CheapBy Anne Marie Chaker
Clocking in at 133,000 miles with a few dings to prove it, Liz Murphy’s 2000 Jeep Cherokee is valued at about $3,500, according to Kelley Blue Book.

Murphy purchased the black Jeep for $15,000 in September 2004 from a used-car dealer .... When she delivered the check, the seller gave her the paperwork and pointed to the name on the title, asking if she recognized it.

She says the (original owner) left some reminders in the car: The lingering smell of cigarette smoke, a wear mark on the steering wheel, and a small tear in the leather of the driver’s seat.
After taking into account the auctioner’s commission (which will go to charity, says auction-house president Rob Lifson), Murphy –nets $20,250. She is now looking for a new car.
